The Torp TC1000 2.X is the strongest controller Torp builds for the Talaria MX3, MX4 and Sting R — a 50 kW ceiling, 1000 A of phase current, 700 A of battery current. Plug-and-play install, tuning in the app on your phone.

What it changes

  • A ceiling you won't exhaust on a stock Talaria. This is the controller you won't outgrow: buy it once and keep building the bike around it — a stronger pack, a different motor, higher settings.
  • Three independent ride modes. Each one gets its own motor and battery current, speed limit, throttle response and regen level.
  • It talks to the stock BMS. Torp is the only maker of aftermarket controllers that keeps communication with the factory BMS alive. You get 50 kW of headroom without bypassing the pack's protection.
  • The factory features keep working. Kickstand sensor, tip-over sensor, mode button, brake sensor and the stock display — all stay functional.
  • Motor protection even without a temperature sensor. If the sensor dies in the middle of a hard ride, Torp still won't let the motor overheat.
  • Overcurrent protection under 1 μs. At 1000 A of phase current that is not a curiosity but the condition for the electronics surviving at all.
  • A redundant throttle to automotive standard — two independent signals instead of a single potentiometer.

What it fits

  • Bike: Talaria Sting MX3, MX4 and Sting R — the kit comes with a harness made for these models
  • Stock Talaria motor: yes
  • Battery: 60–80 V nominal, up to 22S (92.4 V fully charged) — the stock Talaria pack and aftermarket packs
  • Does not fit: the Talaria MX5 — that one has its own TC1000 version

Important before you buy

  • On a stock Talaria the TC1000 will not show an advantage over the TC500. We say that plainly, because it's a few hundred euros of difference: as long as you're riding the factory pack and the factory motor, the battery is your limit, not the electronics. You buy the TC1000 when a stronger pack is in the plan — then you don't buy a controller twice.
  • The real power limit is the battery. 50 kW is the controller's ceiling, not a promise of what you'll see on your own bike. Start on a lower power level and raise it as you strengthen the rest.
  • The harnesses are not waterproof, even though the controller is IP67. Pack every connector with the dielectric grease supplied. The warranty does not cover faults after riding through streams and flooded roads.
  • Calibration before the first ride is mandatory — with the rear wheel off the ground, because it spins during the procedure. Same again after every firmware update.
  • Launch Assist and Lift Assist need a Torp display — Torp Mini or Torp Full Color.
  • Road legality. Changing the controller changes the vehicle's parameters. If you ride on public roads, check what that means for your registration.

Questions people actually ask

If the stock battery gives the same result, why pay the difference?
Because you don't swap a controller every season. If a stronger pack is in your plans, the TC1000 is cheaper than a TC500 now plus a TC1000 a year from now. If you have no such plans — take the TC500 and put the difference into suspension.

Does the stock Talaria display still work?
Yes. Torp controllers leave the stock display fully functional. The app and the Torp display are an addition, not a replacement.

Do I have to bypass the battery?
No. Torp is the only maker that keeps communication with the factory BMS. You get the power without switching off the pack's protection — and you still see the state of every cell in the app.

Does the install need any wiring cut?
No. You plug into the factory connectors, bolt the controller down with its cover and calibrate in the app. Realistically about 20 minutes.

What about the HV version?
Torp has announced the TC1000 2.0 HV for packs up to 96.2 V (26S) and 60 kW, due early 2027. If you're building a high-voltage bike, message us — we'll tell you whether waiting is worth it.

What about a pressure washer and water crossings?
The controller is IP67, but the harness connectors are not waterproof. Dielectric grease in every plug is a condition, not a suggestion. Riding through streams and flooded sections is explicitly excluded from the manufacturer's warranty.
