The Torp TM50 Pro is the most powerful motor ever built for the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee: 58 kW peak power, 102 Nm of torque, 24 kW continuous and 1200 A phase current. This is the maximum-torque version — acceleration, not top speed.

What it changes

  • 102 Nm at the shaft. The stock Ultra Bee motor runs out where the TM50 Pro is only getting started. You feel the difference not on the straight but coming out of corners and on steep climbs — the torque is there from the very bottom.
  • 24 kW of continuous power. This is not a three-second peak. The motor holds that power instead of hiding behind a thermal limit after the first climb.
  • 1024 encoder, expandable to 4096. More accurate rotor position reading than Hall sensors — smoother running at low revs and better behaviour pulling away uphill.
  • Designed around the TC1000. Motor and controller from one maker, tuned together in the Torp app — no guessing at parameters.

Fits

  • Bike: Sur-Ron Ultra Bee
  • Controller: the Torp TC1000 only — generations 1.0 and 2.0
  • Sensor: encoder (1024, expandable to 4096)
  • Will not work with: the stock Ultra Bee controller or controllers from other makers

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Without a TC1000 this motor is useless. It is not a replacement that bolts onto the factory electronics. If you do not have a TC1000 yet, count both parts together before you decide.
  • A chain instead of the belt voids the warranty. Torp explicitly excludes from the two-year warranty any damage caused by running a chain drive in place of the factory belt. If you have, or are planning, a chain conversion — such as the UltraDrive Warp 9 — you have to accept that knowingly. We say it plainly because we sell both products and we would rather you knew before you buy than at the point of a claim.
  • The battery has to keep up. 58 kW is the motor's own rating. Up to 50 kW goes through a TC1000 2.0 at 80 V, and the stock Ultra Bee pack will deliver considerably less. Without a stronger battery you will not see these figures.
  • 14.2 kg. The motor weighs what it weighs and sits low in the frame. After fitting it is worth going over your suspension settings.
  • Pro or Speed? Pro is about torque (102 Nm, 11,000 rpm). The Speed version has less torque (89 Nm) but higher KV and 13,000 rpm — built for top speed. If you ride technical ground, Pro is the right choice. We can order the Speed in to request.
  • Type approval. Changing the motor changes the vehicle's parameters. If you ride on public roads, check what that means for your registration.

Questions people actually ask

TM50 Pro or TM50 Speed?
Pro makes more torque — 102 Nm against 89 Nm — and revs to 11,000 rpm. Speed has higher KV (97 against 88) and 13,000 rpm, so more at the top end. Both have 24 kW continuous. On technical ground and climbs Pro wins; on long straights and in supermoto, Speed. If you want the Speed version, message us — we order it in to request.

What will I actually get?
Up to 50 kW goes through a TC1000 2.0 at 80 V, and that is the figure Torp's own configurator gives for this motor. 58 kW is the motor's own rating, not what reaches the wheel. On the stock Ultra Bee pack it will be noticeably less — the battery is the bottleneck.

I have a chain conversion. What about the warranty?
Torp excludes from the warranty any damage resulting from running a chain instead of the belt. The motor will work, but in the event of a fault the manufacturer may refuse to repair it. That is your decision — we just want you to make it before you buy.

Can I keep the stock controller?
No. The TM50 Pro works only with the Torp TC1000. The stock Ultra Bee electronics will handle neither the encoder nor these currents.

Is it hard to fit?
Harder than changing a controller — this is a motor swap, so you are going into the drive and the rear wheel. If you have serviced a swingarm before, you will manage. If not, it is better to take it to a workshop.
